1 kWh for computations
Then another 0.5 kWh to cool the equipment
While people use 1 kWh to heat their homes
The world's demand for computing has skyrocketed over the last decade, fuelled by AI training, Bitcoin mining, and other fast-growing sectors. The power consumption of computing now exceeds that of large countries, like the UK.
This intensive computing generates vast amounts of heat, typically lost to the atmosphere, adding to our environmental challenges. However, this very heat holds the potential to comfortably warm our indoor spaces. This is where Heatbit comes in.
Rather than using two separate units of energy for computing and heating/cooling, we optimize by using a single unit to do both simultaneously.

2.5 kWh
In totalThe user heats their home with 1 kWh of energy by running computations.

In total for theFor decades, home appliances remained untouched by the winds of innovation. Our houses are warmed and cooled with age-old coil technology that's barely evolved since the mid-20th century.
Now, imagine a world where each device isn't just a passive appliance, but a beacon of progress. Heatbit turns boring appliances into vibrant mini data centre. Together, they're the heartbeat (pun intended) of the next era in distributed computing.
“Your heaters and air conditioners can soon be training the next ChatGPT model, sustaining the new financial system, aiding scientists in cancer research or merely drawing the next Oscar movie.”
